Handcrafted with your breast milk, made to keep close forever.

Silver Breast Milk Jewelry

Our Silver Collection is where most mothers begin. Every piece of sterling silver breast milk jewelry here is handcrafted in our studio in 925 sterling silver, finished with a layer of rhodium, and set with a stone made from your own breast milk. It is the most accessible way to own real breast milk jewelry made by jewelers, without compromising on how it looks or how carefully your milk is handled.

What 925 sterling silver and rhodium mean

Sterling silver, also called 925 silver, is 92.5 percent pure silver alloyed for strength; you will find the 925 hallmark on every piece. Pure silver tarnishes, so we plate our sterling silver with rhodium, a bright metal from the platinum group. Rhodium gives the jewelry the luxurious white look of white gold and slows tarnishing considerably. Over years of wear the rhodium layer gradually thins and the silver beneath shows through; a quick pass with the silver polishing cloth included with your order restores the shine.

What is in the Silver Collection

Almost every Mama Jewels design is available in silver. Sterling silver breast milk rings are the most popular pieces, followed by silver necklaces and pendants and our silver stud earrings. You will also find silver bracelets and silver charms here, so a complete matching set in one metal is easy to put together. Many silver designs can be finished with cubic zirconia, an engraving, a birthstone or an inclusion such as a lock of hair.

Silver or gold?

Silver is the right choice if you want a beautiful keepsake at a lower price, if you are not sure yet how often you will wear it, or if you are buying a first piece to see how your milk stone turns out. Gold is stronger, does not need re-plating and stands up better to daily wear over decades; it is the better choice for a ring you plan never to take off. Silver is a softer metal and can bend with heavy use, which is why our warranty is one year on silver and two years on gold. Compare the Gold Collection before you decide, or read the buying guide for a fuller comparison.

Frequently asked questions

Does silver breast milk jewelry tarnish?

Rhodium plating keeps tarnish away for a long time. When the plating eventually wears, the silver can dull; the included polishing cloth brings it back. Use the cloth on the metal only, never on the stone.

Can I wear silver breast milk jewelry every day?

Yes, with a little care. Silver is softer than gold, so take rings off for housework and sports, keep all pieces away from water and perfume, and store them in the box you receive. Worn this way, silver stays beautiful for years.

What does the warranty cover?

Manufacturing defects on silver are covered for one year. Wear and tear, bent rings, lost stones and water damage are not. See our warranty page for the full terms.
