A breast milk necklace carries a stone made from your own milk on a fine chain, right where your baby rested while feeding. It is the piece partners most often choose as a gift, and the one mothers reach for when they want something they can tuck under a collar or wear openly, depending on the day.

This collection holds both complete necklaces and pendants. A breast milk necklace comes with its matching chain. A breast milk pendant is sold on its own so you can wear it on a chain you already love or choose one of ours: a rhodium-plated silver chain or a 14K gold chain in several lengths. Everything is handcrafted in our studio in 925 sterling silver or solid 9K, 14K and 18K gold.

Styles in this collection

Single stone pendants such as Pure Drop, Cara and Lucky let the milk stone speak for itself. Designs with sparkle like Demi and Lotte can pair the stone with cubic zirconia or lab-grown diamonds. Many pendants can be engraved on the back with a name, a date or a short line, and you can add an inclusion of hair, ashes, umbilical cord or placenta to the stone.

From your milk to your necklace

Order the design you love and we mail a free shipping kit: a small vial marked with your name and order number, a prepaid tracked return envelope and simple instructions. One tablespoon of milk is plenty, fresh or frozen. Your milk is stabilized, blended with a special acrylic resin, cast in thin layers and polished into a stone, then set by hand. Standard production is six to eight weeks from the day your milk reaches the studio; details are on our shipping and returns page.

Frequently asked questions

Necklace or pendant: which should I choose?

Choose a necklace if you want a finished piece that arrives ready to wear. Choose a pendant if you already own a chain you love, want to combine it with other pendants, or plan to move it between chains. Pendants are also the natural choice for a gift when you are not sure about chain length.

What chain length is right?

Our silver chains come in 38 to 60 cm (about 15 to 24 inches) and our gold chains in 38 to 60 cm as well. A 42 or 45 cm chain (16.5 to 18 inches) sits at the collarbone on most women and is the length most customers choose for a single pendant. Longer chains work well for layering.

Is a breast milk necklace the same as a nursing necklace?

No. A nursing necklace, sometimes called a breastfeeding necklace, is a chunky necklace made for a baby to hold while feeding. A breast milk necklace is fine jewelry with a stone made from your milk, meant to be worn long after breastfeeding ends. Because the stone and metal are delicate, keep it out of reach of small hands during feeds.
